Heading to a cruise-in can be a lot different from going to a more traditional car show. For one the atmosphere is way more relaxed because there is no competition, no trophies for different classes are on the line. Which often attracts a different crowd than the shows. Cruise-ins also tend to take place in the evening and generally are held at a local restaurant. Never a bad thing.
Feeling the need to have a burger, Josh and I went to our first cruise-in of the season, this one being held at Sonic Drive-In. Sonic is a great throw-back burger chain that was founded in the car and burger hey day of the early 1950s. (To see more about Sonic, check out our burger blog post on it: http://turnerbudds-burgerblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/sonic-drive-in.html).
This day the weather was threatening (as Oklahoma City had just been ravaged by tornadoes) and so the turn out was less than overwhelming. Still, as is the cast with most cruise-ins, there was everything from a C6 Vette to a Mercury 8. And there's nothing wrong with that.
